The environmental technology company Komptech is at home around the world, and also in Frohnleiten, Austria. The history of this company is that of a global player who has always been one thing more than anything else: innovative.
When Josef Heissenberger and Rudolf Pretzler began building machines for composting plants in a Graz workshop in 1992, the world began to turn green. Five years later these two men and their inventive team moved to Frohnleiten, a small town of 6000 inhabitants some 25 kilometres upriver.
Professional brand policy has enjoyed high priority from the very start. From the beginning, Komptech was famous for fast solutions and pioneering innovations that were developed at a rapid pace together with customers.
Now, nearly 20 years and an enormous number of machines later, in addition to a passion for technology, the company has developed a passionate commitment to the environment. What was formerly largely a subconscious development of the Komptech brand personality, will now be pushed ahead in the clear light of full awareness.
This development involves not just the marketing department, but the whole company – in a manner very similar to how a person’s character is the sum of all the individual qualities he or she possesses.

Function is the core of the Komptech brand model. The functionality of the machinery, the drive systems, the plants. The fulfilment of all independent and specific customer performance requirements by Komptech machines.
But this doesn’t begin to fully describe the reality of the Komptech brand. The Komptech brand personality resides in the gut feelings and mental perceptions of customers about the significance that Komptech has for them.
To make this vague-sounding “significance” more tangible, we can say that the significance of the Komptech brand consists of at least one third pioneering spirit (innovation) and two thirds practical focus.
