The Duel

Komptech challenges operators to duel
According to Josef Heissenberger, the boss of Komptech, no chipper makes better-looking wood chips than the Chippo from Komptech. And he adds, “ No chipper can generate more business than the Chippo because you simply get more for better-looking wood chips. ”
And how does he intend to prove this? He is on the lookout for five professionals who want to take up the duel. If he loses, he will work for the winner for a week at no cost.
Will you take up the challenge?
Conditions of participation
1. Josef Heissenberger claims that the chippers in the Chippo family produce the best-looking and best quality wood chips, enabling better prices to be attained than with wood chips from traditional drum chippers.
2. Josef Heissenberger is ready to face the comparison with any drum chipper. Challengers can select the venue, i.e. can have “home advantage”, because the Chippo will come to them. In return, Josef Heissenberger may choose the time.
3. Only professional contractors may take up the challenge.
4. The duel is to be held during the course of one day. Eye witnesses are most certainly welcome. Josef Heissenberger makes available the operator of the Chippo and the challenger of course operates the machine him/herself. The challenger is to provide the material for shredding.
5. Any costs for machinery, transportation and fuel are borne by the respective machine operator.
6. Should more than five operators take up the challenge against Komptech, a draw will decide who stands against the Chippo.
The decision
7. The criterion for victory is perfect wood chip quality (chunky with as few overlengths as possible and as little fine fraction as possible) in line with standard quality criteria.
8. Both Josef Heissenberger and the challenger commit to assigning one independent member of the panel. The preference is that the panel is made up of one representative from science (university, research institute, etc.) and one expert working in the industry (e.g. heating plant operator).
The stakes
9. Should Josef Heissenberger lose, he commits to working for the winner of the duel for one week with his Chippo at no cost.
10. Should Josef Heissenberger win, the challenger commits to making him/herself available to Komptech at no cost for marketing purposes (photos, online/printed reports) and to praise the qualities of the Chippo at every possible opportunity.
