AXTOR

Introduction

Universal shredder

The range of products in the field of biomass treatment is now complete with the Axtor. As a fast-running shredder, material for composting is produced - at reduced speed in chipper mode, fuel for heating plants is produced. The input material determines whether the material is chipped or shredded with hammer tools.

Power is provided by a sturdy power band. This power is transferred to the drum via a manual gearbox and comes from a Caterpillar C18 engine in the underfloor mounting position on the Axtor 8012. A 3-axle central axle trailer, a semi-trailer or a chain drive lend the Axtor mobility.

Advantages at a glance

  • Long feed area, open to the front, with filling capability on both sides
  • Aggressive feed with pre-compression by 2 horizontal and 2 vertical feed rollers
  • 2 shredding concepts: shredder mode or chipper mode
  • Ideal servicing access to the motor (underfloor engine) and to the shredding area

Highlights

Takes it all in

At over 6 feet wide and up to 20 feet long, the feed hopper can take the bulkiest items from the biggest shovels or grippers, without blockages. The movable feed funnel can be opened at the front to take in long tree trunks. Folding side walls make it possible to feed the machine from both sides.

Bigmouth

The feeder specs are impressive - 5'3'' wide and 3'3'' high, fed by what is probably the best intake system in this machine class. The combination of horizontal and vertical feed rollers and a wide apron conveyor ensure active transport into the machine, even with bulky green material.

Today compost, tomorrow chips

Shredded green material for composting, or precisely sized chips for fuel – the Axtor does both. The key is a drum that can take different tools – free-swinging hammers, fixed hammers or fixed chipping blades. Switchover speed is key on the job, and switching between these tools is faster than with any other machine.

Easy access

Designers and service technicians worked closely together on the Axtor right from the start, to give it easy maintenance access few other machines can match. The Axtor is the only machine anywhere combining an underfloor engine, swing-out screen basket, easily accessible shredding chamber and individual mounting of tools on the drum.
