As a full-service provider for the recycling industry, the Styrian company Komptech was naturally represented at IFAT in Munich, the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management. Numerous customers and interested parties from all over the world visited the stand to find out more about the new “Industrial” division and the new Equalizer product.
From May 13 to 17, 2024, the Bavarian city of Munich was transformed into the global hub for environmental technologies: At IFAT Munich, over 3,200 exhibitors from 61 countries and regions presented their technologies and innovations in the fields of recycling, environmental protection and the circular economy. Naturally, Komptech GmbH, based in Frohnleiten, Styria, was not to be missed – not least to present the company’s new division. Under the name “Industrial”, the full-service provider for the recycling industry has also recently started processing mixed material flows and presented its first new product in this area at IFAT Munich: the Equalizer single-shaft shredder, which specializes in shredding commercial, bulky and household waste. The all-electric machine, which will be available on the market from 2025, impressed the trade visitors not only with its problem-free shredding of a wide range of materials and the resulting homogeneous final mass, but also with its user and environmental friendliness.
In keeping with the focus of this year’s IFAT – climate change and the achievement of climate protection targets – Komptech’s spacious stand also provided a wealth of information about the recycling specialist’s product portfolio. Between the conference tables and large screens, a Topturn made of clamping blocks, one of the world’s most popular windrow turners, was also on display.
In addition to the machines on display at the indoor exhibition stand, live demonstrations were also held on the outdoor exhibition area. The Komptech machines – specifically the Axtor universal shredder, the Lacero high-performance shredder and the Crambo 2-shaft shredder – demonstrated their capabilities. All three primarily process waste wood and biomass. Thanks to the different processing quantities and methods, interested parties were able to get a comprehensive picture of Komptech GmbH’s broad product range, which is adapted to all requirements. Incidentally, each of the machines presented can be further adapted to individual customer requirements.
The positive summary of the trade fair appearance: both the demonstrations and the trade fair stand of the waste management professional were very popular. No wonder, as the crowds at IFAT were bigger than they had been for a long time. A total of around 142,000 visitors from all over the world strolled through the exhibition grounds over the 5 days and were happy to learn more about Komptech’s solutions.
