Increased efficiency thanks to new machines
Hallesche Wasser und Stadtwirtschaft GmbH relies on new machines from Komptech for shredding waste wood and green waste. The machines are also used for processing bulky waste and cardboard tubes.
For Burkhardt Jänicke from Hallesche Wasser und Stadtwirtschaft GmbH, two reasons played a key role in the purchase decision: “A new machine offers the advantage that everything is new and there are no undetected defects due to wear and tear, for example, compared to used machines. In addition, it is possible to conclude a warranty or warranty extensions in conjunction with maintenance contracts, which is difficult to the same extent with used machines. Due to the long-term and continuous use, renting is not an option for us.”
Continuous further development
It’s not just companies that are constantly evolving, Komptech machines are too. Innovations and new generations of machines are gradually coming onto the market. Komptech thus serves as a solution provider for its customers. “It doesn’t necessarily have to be the latest generation, especially if existing technology is established and proven,” says Jänicke, adding: “Nevertheless, new models often offer additional options or enhancements, such as data transmission via GPRS. What’s more, the machines generally become more efficient as they are further developed, which is also our company’s fundamental aim.”
The GPRS tool, specifically the Komptech-specific condition monitoring system Connect!, is already being used diligently and helps to further optimise processes in the company. “It’s practical for viewing the system status and monitoring it using selected data. It’s a useful tool that simplifies plant operation and makes it more transparent,” says Jänicke.
“The technology is robust and well thought-out, and the customer service leaves nothing to be desired.”

Convincing test demonstrations
Until now, Hallesche Wasser und Stadtwirtschaft GmbH has been using a Crambo machine and now the company has decided to purchase a new Terminator. “We only shortlisted a few machines based on the requirements we had. In a tendering process, Komptech came out on top with the Terminator. We also had very good experience with the Crambo model and were able to see the Terminator’s performance for ourselves in advance during test demonstrations,” explains Burkhardt Jänicke.
Questions or new situations also keep cropping up during operation. Jänicke is always well advised: “The technology is robust and well thought-out, and the customer service leaves nothing to be desired. You could call them a solution provider.”
