Convincing rental performance in South Korea
After a rental period, Seongchang Environment decided to buy two Komptech machines. The experts for mixed solid waste recycling could increase their production line capacity by 30 percent.
The Chairman of Seongchang Environment, Jongpal Park, started his business in 1996 for construction waste recycling with the company name of Kumkang Development. In 2006, he entered the business in mixed solid waste (MSW) recycling and was active in the SRF Production. Recently, in 2021, their former pre-shredder had a problem and in order to that problem, their complete production line had to be stopped. It was unclear when Seongchang was able to restart the production line. During the downtime of their existing plant, a Komptech Terminator was rented as a pre-shredder. Seongchang contacted Komptech through the online marketing tool for rental machines.
SJ Korea as strong partner
Since SJ Korea is running three Terminators for rental, Seongchang called SJ Korea for a machine rental for three months. During the rental period, the customer was impressed with the machine He also found that with the Terminator, They were able to achieve twice the throughput of the shredder he had been using previously. The machine Seongchang rented from SJ Korea was the oldest machine available for rent at the time. The machine was manufactured in 2012. However, this was another positive argument for Seongchang, as it underlines the high quality and durability of Komptech products. Despite its age, the machine is still running at the performance level of a new machine and if any problems do occur, the service team was on hand to get the machine up and running again.
Production line increase
The Terminator was, because of the rental phase, already a well-known. However, the customer took the chance to experience the machine in person at their site and to experience the service, and finally ordered two Komptech machines.
SJ Korea offered the customer different machine variants. In the end, the customer opted for a hydraulically driven machine, as this design is characterized by its load-dependent control of the roll speed, which enables simple throughput control and flexible reaction to different, often changing, input materials.
Currently, the customer is running two Terminators. Their production line capacity has now increased more than 30 percent in addition since they are now able to have an ideal utilization of the whole plant. Additionally, Seongchang was also impressed with the Connect! system, where Komptech and SJ Korea are always monitoring and let them know whenever service or maintenance actions are needed. As of now, Seongchang has about 300 employees and 7 subsidiaries. Their main business focusses on Construction Waste Recycling, Biomass Recycling, Domestic Waste Recycling and a SRF Cogeneration Plant.
