A New Place for
Opportunities
Welcome to Komptech! Our new headquarters building was designed with the input of our staff. The result is a place of opportunities, possibilities and effective collaboration with customers and partners.
Our new headquarters in Frohnleiten, Austria is much more than just an office building. It is a place where we take cooperation with our customers to the next level and bring challenging projects to a successful conclusion. Just as we listen closely to what customers and partners say when we develop new machines, when we built our new headquarters we listened closely to the people who will spend many hours there – our employees. They know from experience what they need in order to work efficiently and create the greatest possible benefit for our customers. Therefore, at the start of the design process we formed a User Group with representatives from all departments, that together with sustainable building consulting firm M.O.O.CON had a major say in the development of the workspaces. The result is a building full of possibilities, where ideas can grow and strong partnerships can be formed. Desk sharing for flexible working, inspiring encounter zones and well-equipped creative spaces are just some of the features of the varied interior of this 3000 m2 complex. The result is even more productive workflows and a world-class service experience.
„The new headquarters gives our customers the opportunity to experience Komptech even better.“
Christoph Feyerer,
Komptech CEO
„The light-flooded building reflects our openness in dialogue with customers.“
Ewald Konrad,
Komptech CSO
As soon as you enter the new headquarters – fittingly christened “Place for Opportunities” by the staff – you sense an atmosphere of openness and progress. The light-drenched atrium is an entranceway to the world of Komptech possibilities, as well as a setting for presentations that can be followed throughout the building thanks to clever sound engineering. Large LED screens and showcased 3D models bring the fascinating world of Komptech machines to life. The seminar and meeting rooms in the heart of the building, which naturally feature the latest technology, are open for visitors from all over the world. “When customers come to us they can now dive deep into the heart of our company. We want them to not just be guests, but feel like part of the Komptech family,” said Stefan Windisch, member of the User Group and Head of Partner Sales at Komptech. Spaces are available in different sizes and configurations depending on the need, for inspiring discussions among peers, whether in personal getacquainted meetings or at larger events with numerous attendees.
SUSTAINABLE AND INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS
Just as our customers use our machines every day to actively contribute to conserving resources, we set out to create a structure that shapes the future in harmony with people and the environment. The building was constructed by Leoben builder ÖSTU Stettin under the supervision of Wendl ZT-GmbH. “The project was organized very professionally, with clear responsibilities,” said Klaus Posch of Wendl ZT-GmbH. Rene Ganshofer of ÖSTU Stettin agreed: “The construction site was very well organized – complex, but well thought-out.” As an example he mentioned the shelf façade, which was purpose-developed for this project. There are also further innovations, like the insulation of 100% recycled foam glass ballast. The use of lean concrete and an entirely new construction method with recycling-based plastic elements permitted the saving of 900 cubic metres of concrete and thus 190 tonnes of CO2. This low-energy building also features an air heat pump and photovoltaic array. “The entire building is environment- and climate-friendly, and should get Gold climate certification,” said Rene Ganshofer – a clear indication of the responsibility we feel towards our environment and our partners.
„I see the sum of many advantageous decisions.“

„Innovative solutions enabled the saving of 900 m3 of concrete in the construction. That’s 190 tonnes of CO2.“

A MILESTONE IN OUR COMPANY HISTORY
“The successful conclusion of the construction was simultaneously the start of a promising new chapter in the history of Komptech,” said Heike Oberegger. As a member of internal Project Management she knows as much as anyone about the many advantages of the new headquarters for our partners and employees. “The open and professional collaboration has given rise to an office complex that meets all the requirements of daily work,” she noted after the first in-use phase. The new spaces are ideal for productive communication and good collaboration, thus laying the foundation for pioneering future projects, attracting motivated new talent and maintaining strong, lasting customer relationships.
